Customer Service Terminals
BEA’s Customer Service and Personalization Terminal combines the functions of the
Customer Service Terminal and the personalization and issuing of smart cards.
The Terminals include a contactless smart card read/write unit connected to the host PC using a serial cable.
The Customer Service Terminal is linked to the Central System either through a direct network connection or by using a modem and dial-up connection to the Central System.
The Terminals are also used to enter and verify customer information when cards are registered, reported lost or stolen, or are being re-issued. Balances on cards can be checked and transaction information provided. Specific information on individual customers is restricted in order to follow all privacy legislation and policies.
Options for the Customer Service Terminals include:
- A reloadable card printer/issuer
- A disposable smart card printer/issuer
- A digital camera to allow for photos to be added to individual cards
